Deleting a Shared Folder

You may want to backup the information in the shared folder before you delete it. Once the shared folder is deleted, all of the sub-folders and files within it are removed from your Media Vault.

The Media Vault comes with five shared folders already created: Backup, Documents, Music, Photos, and Videos. These initial folders cannot be deleted.

To delete a shared folder
  1. At the computer, click Start, All Programs, HP Media Vault, and then Control Center.
  2. On the Tools tab, click Customize HP Media Vault.
  3. You are prompted for an administrator name and password if you set one up. For additional information, see Editing System Settings.
  4. On the Shared Folders tab, locate the folder you want to delete.
  5. Click Delete.
  6. Type the folder name in the dialog to confirm the deletion and click OK.
