Why does my HP Media Vault shut down by itself?

The HP Media Vault has a temperature sensor and if the sensor records a temperature of 57^o C, the unit will shut down.

Check that the unit has unobstructed airflow, and that the unit is not in an small enclosed.

Turn the unit on and listen for a fan, if you do not hear a fan or the unit continues to shut down, contact HP support.
