Changing a Password

Users require individual passwords to access private shared folders. Media Vault administrators can change user passwords if the user forgets the password or if the password is no longer secure.

To change a password
  1. At the computer, click Start, All Programs, HP Media Vault, and then Control Center.
  2. On the Tools tab, click Customize HP Media Vault.
  3. You are prompted for an administrator name and password if you set one up. For additional information, see Editing System Settings.
  4. On the Users tab, locate the user you want to modify.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Type and confirm the new Password.
  7. Click Save.
