Enabling Remote Access
There are a few things to consider before enabling remote access. The first is the security of your HP Media Vault. It is strongly recommended that you create an administrator user name and password for your HP Media Vault Administration Console. Otherwise, anyone with your personal domain can access your Administration Console and change system settings for your Media Vault. For additional information, see Editing System Settings.
Another consideration before enabling remote access is the security level of your shared folders. Public shared folders must be password protected before they can be accessed remotely. Public shared folders have a lower level of security since they are password protected at the folder level. Private shared folders are more secure since they require each user to have a password. For additional information, see Editing a Shared Folder.
